Company history
In 1985, Ursula and Richard Rupprecht began asphalting the driveways and open spaces in the courtyard, as well as marking the roads. From the knowledge and practical experience Richard Rupprecht had already gained for many years as a shaft foreman, the desire grew to develop and produce machines or devices. In 1986, he followed up on his desire to develop his own innovations that would make road maintenance more efficient and easier. In this year the first Risseboy was manufactured in a “workshop” of just 30 m². As demand grew, so did the ideas for innovations. Mainly in the field of joint and crack repair. Thanks to many innovations, numerous patents have been registered, which ensure sustainable company success. A method for lowering manhole covers in road surfaces (without cutting or milling the asphalt surface) was also patented. This was the starting signal for the company Loos GmbH, which carried out the work under licence from then on and still does so today.
After moving into a disused horse stable with 80 m², where production took place for four years, the production finally moved to Neunkirchen am Sand. There, a production area of 1200 m² was gradually created from a former railway building.
Thanks to an invention for the heat treatment of exhaust air in joint grouting equipment, we were awarded the special prize of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology for innovation in the application of technology in 2005. Shortly thereafter, Andreas Rupprecht followed in his father’s footsteps. The family business is now run by the second generation. Today, we supply our products worldwide and the product portfolio covers the largest part of road maintenance.
But one thing is still the same as on the first day. The idea of making something easier and more effective runs like a red thread through the development of Richard Rupprecht GmbH.
